Hallo, I’m Gesa.
I’m the founder of German4FUN, a native German speaker from Germany, and a teacher who believes that learning German should feel structured, encouraging, and doable.
I began tutoring when I was 16 and have been teaching in different formats ever since. Today, I teach adults, kids, and teens online and am gathering interest for future in-person adult groups in Pensacola.
My goal is simple: students should understand what they are learning, feel comfortable practicing, and make steady progress without feeling rushed or embarrassed.

My Teaching Background
From 2019 to 2022, I taught in public elementary schools in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. I worked as a substitute teacher and later became the class teacher of a first-grade and then a second-grade class.
I have also taught within the professional framework of Berlitz, following established instructional standards and materials.
This experience shapes how I teach today: organized lessons, clear explanations, practical speaking, and a calm atmosphere where students are welcome to ask questions and make mistakes.
My Teaching Approach
Lessons follow the CEFR framework from A1 through B2, so students build German step by step instead of jumping between random topics.

Real-life conversation practice alongside vocabulary, listening, and grammar.
Clear Explanations
Students learn why German works the way it does—not only what to memorize.
Patient Support
Gentle correction, room for questions, and progress without unnecessary pressure.
Depending on the student and level, lessons may use structured textbooks and workbooks such as Panorama, Prima Aktiv, and Los geht’s!, along with guided activities and optional Quizlet practice.
Why I Love Teaching German
One of my favorite moments as a teacher is when a student suddenly realizes, “Wait—I actually understood that.”
German can feel intimidating at first. I enjoy helping students move from uncertainty to real understanding, whether they are learning for travel, family, relocation, school, work, heritage, or simply for fun.

Online lessons are available across the United States and internationally. Adults and older teens meet through Google Meet, while kids and younger teens usually learn in an interactive Koala Go classroom.
