1. Trial Lessons

Trial lessons are one-time sessions designed to introduce participants to the German4FUN teaching style and learning environment. Trial lessons may be offered in person or online, depending on the program.

Payment must be made in advance using the payment method provided by German4FUN. Trial-lesson payments are non-refundable unless the session is cancelled by German4FUN, these Terms and Conditions state otherwise, or a refund is required by applicable law.

The minimum enrollment required for a trial lesson will be stated on the applicable registration page. German4FUN may proceed with a smaller group or cancel the lesson. If a trial lesson is cancelled before it begins because the published minimum enrollment was not reached, registered participants will be informed by email within one day after the registration deadline and all payments will be refunded in full to the original payment method within 14 days of cancellation.

Participation in a trial lesson is optional and does not create an obligation to enroll in another German4FUN service. A trial-lesson registration does not guarantee or reserve a place in a future lesson, course, or program.

2. Courses and Lesson Formats

German4FUN may offer the following services:

• Private online lessons
• In-person group courses
• Online group courses
• Trial lessons and introductory sessions
• Other German-language learning programs described at the time of registration

The session length, number of sessions, course dates, group size, price, included materials, minimum enrollment, and other relevant details are stated on the applicable service or registration page.

In-person instruction is offered in a group format unless German4FUN agrees otherwise in writing. Private lessons are offered online unless another arrangement is expressly agreed by German4FUN.

3. Minimum Enrollment

Each group course or trial lesson that is subject to a minimum enrollment requirement requires the number of registered and fully paid participants stated on its applicable registration page. An expression of interest or submission of an interest-list form is not a paid registration and does not count toward minimum enrollment.

Minimum enrollment requirements apply before the course or trial lesson begins. If the published minimum enrollment is not reached by the registration deadline, German4FUN may cancel the course or trial lesson or may choose to proceed with a smaller group.

If German4FUN cancels a course or trial lesson before it begins because the published minimum enrollment was not reached, registered participants will be notified by email within one day after the registration deadline. Everyone who has paid will receive a full refund to the original payment method within 14 days of cancellation.

4. Registration, Enrollment, and Payment

Payment must be made in advance using an accepted payment method shown at the time of registration. German4FUN currently accepts PayPal and, for certain services, Venmo. German4FUN may determine or change the accepted payment methods for future transactions.

A submitted registration form alone does not reserve a place. Enrollment in a group course or trial lesson is complete after full payment has been received. German4FUN will send a confirmation and welcome email within 24 hours. Participants should check their spam folder and contact German4FUN if the email is not received.

For private lessons, payment is due before the scheduled lesson begins unless German4FUN agrees otherwise in writing.

German4FUN may deny participation, postpone a lesson, or cancel a registration when payment has not been received by the stated deadline. Students with unpaid balances from previous services may not be permitted to participate in future services until the outstanding balance has been paid.

5. Attendance, Late Arrival, and Missed Lessons

Students are encouraged to attend every scheduled lesson, class, or session. A lesson or class missed by the student, regardless of reason, is non-refundable and cannot be made up unless German4FUN agrees otherwise.

Arriving late does not entitle a student to additional lesson time, a make-up session, or a refund.

Lesson summaries, recordings, make-up materials, or other supplemental resources may occasionally be provided at German4FUN’s discretion but are not included as part of a service unless explicitly stated.

6. Cancellations by German4FUN

If German4FUN must cancel a lesson or session, affected students will be notified as early as reasonably possible. German4FUN will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the affected lesson or session.

If rescheduling is not possible, German4FUN will provide either a refund for the cancelled or undelivered portion or an equivalent lesson credit, at German4FUN’s discretion. This does not change the full-refund policy for a course or trial lesson cancelled before it begins because the published minimum enrollment was not reached, as described in Sections 1, 3, and 7.

7. Refund Policy

Except when these Terms and Conditions specifically state otherwise, payments are non-refundable after payment has been received and enrollment or booking is complete. If a student withdraws from a lesson, course, or program, no refund will be provided for cancelled or remaining sessions unless German4FUN grants an exception at its sole discretion.

If German4FUN cancels a course or trial lesson before it begins because the published minimum enrollment was not reached, all payments will be refunded in full to the original payment method within 14 days of cancellation.

If German4FUN is unable to continue providing a lesson, course, or program because of illness, injury, emergency, or another circumstance beyond its reasonable control, German4FUN may reschedule affected sessions, provide a refund for undelivered sessions, provide an equivalent lesson credit, or offer another reasonable solution at its discretion.

8. Online Lessons

Online lessons are conducted through the video or interactive-learning platform agreed upon for the service. Students are responsible for having a stable internet connection, a suitable device, and an appropriate environment for participating in the lesson.

Technical problems on the student’s side do not entitle the student to a refund or additional lesson time. If a significant technical problem on the teacher’s side prevents the lesson from being delivered, German4FUN will reschedule the affected time or provide the remedy described in Section 6.

9. Recordings, Photographs, and Course Materials

German4FUN does not routinely record lessons, classes, or sessions. Any recording made by German4FUN will be discussed and agreed upon in advance with the student or, for a minor, the student’s parent or legal guardian.

Students and participants may not record, photograph, screenshot, distribute, publish, or share lessons, classes, course materials, the teacher, or other participants without prior permission from German4FUN and, where applicable, the individuals involved.

Unauthorized recording, distribution, publication, or misuse of lesson content or course materials may result in removal from a lesson, class, or program without a refund and may result in other appropriate action.

10. Learning Outcomes

German4FUN lessons and courses are designed to support language learning in a structured and encouraging environment. Progress depends on factors including attendance, participation, practice, previous experience, individual learning pace, and opportunities to use German. Completing a course means that the planned curriculum has been taught; it does not guarantee a specific CEFR proficiency, examination result, rate of progress, or other learning outcome.

11. Code of Conduct

Students and participants must treat the teacher and other participants with respect and courtesy and must follow reasonable classroom, safety, and lesson instructions.

German4FUN may remove a student whose behavior is unsafe, threatening, harassing, or repeatedly disruptive to the learning environment. Except where required by applicable law, a student removed for such conduct will not receive a refund for the affected or remaining sessions.

12. Students Under 18

A parent or legal guardian must complete the registration and agree to these Terms and Conditions for a student under 18.

For in-person services, parents or legal guardians are responsible for ensuring that minor students arrive on time and are picked up promptly. German4FUN is not responsible for supervising students outside scheduled lesson or class times.

For online services, parents or legal guardians are responsible for providing a safe and appropriate learning environment and ensuring that the student has access to the required device, technology, and internet connection.

13. Schedule and Location Changes

German4FUN may adjust lesson times, course schedules, program dates, platforms, or locations when reasonably necessary because of illness, weather, emergencies, facility availability, technical issues, or other unforeseen circumstances. Affected students will be informed as early as reasonably possible. Any cancellation that cannot be rescheduled will be handled according to Sections 6 and 7.

14. Privacy and Communications

German4FUN collects personal information necessary for registration, payment, communication, and course administration. Information may be processed by service providers used to operate the website, process payments, communicate with participants, and administer lessons, including WordPress, PayPal, Venmo, video or interactive-learning platforms, and email providers. German4FUN does not sell participants’ personal information.

Participants in a group course may be asked whether they consent to having their email address shared with other members of the same class for class-related communication. Participation in such a group is voluntary.

German4FUN may request permission to take or use photographs or video recordings during lessons, classes, or events. Participation is voluntary and subject to a separate Photo and Video Release Form or other documented permission.

15. Liability

German4FUN makes reasonable efforts to provide educational services in a safe and respectful environment. Participation in lessons, courses, and related activities is at the participant’s own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, German4FUN is not responsible for personal injury, loss, damage, technical problems, or circumstances beyond its reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits a right or liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

16. Changes to These Terms

German4FUN may update these Terms and Conditions when services, business practices, legal requirements, or technology change. The current version and its last-updated date will be posted on this page. Unless required by law or separately agreed with the participant, a material change will not retroactively alter the terms governing a service that has already been fully paid for and confirmed.
