What Parents Say

“Gesa is just wonderful. My 9 year old loves his online German lessons with her so much he keeps requesting longer and more frequent lessons. She is patient, kind, and is experienced in tailoring the curriculum to match the student’s goals and abilities. We are so fortunate to have found a teacher like her!”

What Lessons Actually Feel Like

Lessons are live, interactive, and encouraging. Kids don’t just watch a screen. They speak, click, drag, answer, repeat, and practice German in small, manageable steps.

I keep lessons structured, but friendly, so children know what to expect and can feel proud of their progress.

What Is Koala Go?

Koala Go works similar to Zoom or Google Meet. You simply click a secure lesson link. No subscription, no account required, and no extra payment for the platform.

The difference is that Koala Go is built for interactive learning. Kids can drag, click, speak, move through activities, and play directly inside the lesson.

Common Parent Questions

Does my child need previous German experience?

No. Beginners are welcome. I adjust lessons to your child’s age, level, and confidence.

Do parents need to know German?

No. Parents do not need to know German. I provide the structure and guidance during lessons.

What if my child is shy?

That’s okay. Many children need a little time to warm up. I never force kids to speak before they feel ready, but I gently encourage small steps.

Do students use books or workbooks?

Yes. I usually recommend age-appropriate textbooks and workbooks based on the student’s level, age, and learning goals.

Lessons follow the CEFR framework (A1–B2), which helps students build German step by step with a clear progression.

Not sure what A1–B2 means? Read the CEFR explanation here →

The books reinforce vocabulary, reading, listening, grammar, and speaking practice between lessons.

Do students get homework?

Usually yes, but it is designed to feel manageable and age-appropriate, not overwhelming.

Most homework comes directly from the workbook and helps students review what we practiced during the lesson.

Students can also practice vocabulary in a fun and interactive way through Quizlet flashcards and games if parents would like additional practice between lessons.

The goal is steady progress and confidence, not pressure.

How long are lessons?

Younger children usually do best with shorter lessons, while older kids and teens can typically focus longer.

  • Most younger kids start with 25-minute lessons
  • Older kids and teens usually do 40-minute lessons
  • Lesson length can be adjusted based on age, focus, and goals

Pricing starts at $18.
