Want to complete A1 in a clear, structured way? Beginner IV is the final step of the A1 path and is designed for students who already completed Beginner I–III (or have the same foundation).

In Beginner IV, you’ll learn practical language for travel, everyday life, and real conversations — and finish the A1 level.

Finish A1 by completing chapters 13–16

This class is scheduled once at least 5 participants join the interest list and confirm registration. If the minimum is not reached, the class will be postponed until enough students are enrolled.

Beginner IV Entry Requirement

Beginner IV assumes you already know the content from Beginner I–III (chapters 1–12). This course moves forward with confidence-building speaking and practical topics.

Comfortable with everyday A1 conversations (shopping, food, appointments, plans, directions basics)
Can handle present tense confidently and already started past tense (Perfekt) in speaking
Ready to finish A1 and feel more independent using German in real situations

What We’ll Cover in Beginner IV (Chapters 13–16)

Beginner IV completes the A1 level by working through chapters 13–16. These chapters focus on practical, everyday topics and speaking confidence.

celebrations, work life, dates, invitations, and talking about events
Chapter 14
weather, clothing, colors, opinions, and everyday descriptions
Chapter 15
directions, city navigation, transportation situations, and tickets
Chapter 16
vacation planning, hotels, polite requests, and travel language

Grammar and speaking goals you’ll build in this course (in a practical way):

More confident case usage (dative and accusative) in real speaking
Polite requests (for example “I’d like…” / “Could you…”) for real-life situations
Modal verbs for everyday meaning (“must,” “may,” “allowed to”)
Directions and travel language that makes A1 feel truly usable
Finishing A1 with clearer sentence structure and stronger comprehension

Gesa teaching German in Pensacola

My name is Gesa. I am a native German speaker with more than 25 years of teaching and youth development experience.

I have taught more than 1,300 hours of German through platforms like Preply and Berlitz, and I also teach on-site in small groups. I taught for years in Germany, and I have been teaching here in the U.S. for the past 3 years.

Getting Here

The course takes place at the Ever’man’s Educational Center on W Garden Street in downtown Pensacola. Parking is available nearby, and it is easy to reach from Pensacola, Milton, and Foley, AL.
